| Description: |
This course is designed to give you the basic medical vocabulary that will allow you to study more advanced materials, plus be able to talk knowledgeably with clients and health professionals. In addition, it will acquaint you with information to enable you to understand biomechanics of body motion so you can begin to develop the concept of kinesiology and how to use it when training your clients. |
| Purpose: |
The purpose of the course is to serve as the prerequisite foundation for courses in the physical rehabilitation series from beginner to advanced levels.
There are two courses that comprise this series of study in order for you to gain the full value of this knowledge. This is the first course of the two-course series. |
| Objectives: |
Effective Preparation: SuperSlow Instructor will understand the vocabulary, definition of medical terms used in exercise physiology, kinesiology and physical medicine.
Improve Thinking and Speaking Skills: Advance SuperSlow instructor ability to discuss and talk with other health professional in an intelligent manner.
Reading Medical Reports: Increase SuperSlow instructor ability to read and understand medical reports and studies associated with specific medical conditions.
Medical Diagnoses – Basic Information: Provide basic information about specific diagnoses associated with conditions SuperSlow instructors generally encounter with physical rehabilitation. |
| Outcomes: |
Learners should be prepared for advancing through the levels of beginner, intermediate and advanced classes in physical medicine.
Learners should be better able to read and understand medical reports associated with specific medical conditions and studies and names of specific diagnoses associated with physical rehabilitation
Learners should have a much better understanding of the vocabulary associated with physical medicine.
Learners should be able to speak knowledgeably with clients and health care professionals about medical terms and conditions. |
