Master List | Masters Speak Out | Masters Review Tech. Manual 3rd Edition From Dan Carter, SuperSlow Master Greetings SuperSlow Instructors, On October 5th, 2005 Cathy and I joined the SuperSlow Zone Institute and registered for the first CEU course "SuperSlow Colloquium". We did this for the same reasons we have been a licensed SuperSlow facility since 2001, and now a SuperSlow Zone franchise. Let me tell you why... Our mission at SuperSlow of Scottsdale is to be THE best source of exercise instruction for clients, and certification for new instructors. We and our instructors not only believe in SuperSlow protocol, but continually strive to better understand the biological processes it is based on. We want to know the truth about how and why it works, and effectively communicate this to our clients. We have gone a long way toward our goal, BUT there is always more to know about the biology and application of the best form of exercise on the planet. The SuperSlow Zone Institute is where that is going to happen in the years to come. Not just because of its existence, but because instructors like you and me are participating and contributing. Ken Hutchins once told me the SuperSlow certification process can guarantee only a minimal level of proficiency. From then on, it is up to the individual to continue to learn and improve. IACET, SSZI, and CEUs are the system that will make our continued education credible, relevant and valuable. I immediately registered for Ken Hutchins and Dr. Doug McGuff’s SuperSlow Colloquium course. Considering the lack of critical thinking in today’s world, this class examining the basics of and advancing our ability to think critically will make us powerful. Why is this relevant to SuperSlow? Very simply, a lack of critical thinking is the source of myth and misinformation about exercise and nutrition we deal with every day. Critical thinking is about finding the TRUTH in all the information we filter every day. One of our favorite benefits of SuperSlow Zone Institute membership is Ken Hutchins’ monthly training roundtable teleconferences. Imagine, every month, being able to have the creator of SuperSlow help solve your most challenging training issues. We have attended every one and have never failed to come away with useful information. Whether your certification is near expiration or not, please join Ken Hutchins, Dr. Doug McGuff, and other SuperSlow professionals as a SuperSlow Zone Institute member. Then enjoy the search for truth by selecting CEU courses that interest you and become one of our industry’s best, not just because you believe in your product, but because you understand why it is superior. Kind Regards, Dan Carter Firstly there is the aspect of source. Ken Hutchins is one of the most important figures in the field of exercise in history, and is still far ahead of his time. His understanding of the mechanical and medical connections to human physiology and the role and place of exercise in anthropological and scientific reasoning and philosophy is unrivaled. His superlative definition of exercise and his attention to detail means that the SuperSlow Zone Institute really is a place of HIGHER learning. Second are standards. With a long history of high standards due to Ken Hutchins' long term clinical development of the philosophy of SuperSlow and proximity to Arthur Jones and all of the original and innovative minds within Nautilus, the standards of certification and the materials and knowledge are always going to be cutting edge. Such a focus on the importance of proper technique and the science behind it means very few organizations can have as much clout." --Sean O'Sullivan |
